-Sinikiwe Kademaunga was born with a condition known as Acromesomelic Dysplasia, a rare skeletal disorder that results in a particular form of short stature known as short-limb dwarfism.
Love is a powerful emotion. Stories of love have caused a lot of controversies, others have inspired many while others have destroyed the foundation of marriages. Sinikiwe Kademaunga’s love story is among those that have inspired many.
Sinikiwe Kademaunga was born with a condition that stopped her limbs from growing, but the bubbly blogger, life coach, and social worker is not letting her physical limitations hold her back. She was born with no limbs and no knees.
She was surrounded with love more so by her grandmother who treated her like the other children, but could still struggle with self-confidence. It was hard for her to accept her body as she always thought she wasn’t beautiful neither was her body awesome.
She was raised by her grandmother after her paternal family had a hard time accepting her condition which was blamed on her mother. Nikki never knew her biological dad until he passed on. Her mother would always pay her a visit.
Her teen years were particularly difficult, as people would always make fun of her but she dealt with them aggressively. As she was growing up she realized that the best way to defending herself was either to speak up for her herself or ignore the negativity.
While in the university, Nikki decided to start a blog-Life in The Shoes of a Short Girl where she shared her thoughts and welcomed readers into her world.
In 2016 at only 23 years, she received an award for Courage ‘the Courage Award’ at the International Women’s Awards in Zimbabwe.
At some point in life, she discovered ‘SELF ACCEPTANCE’ and slowly began to build her life and indulged in the things she loves the most like make-up and life coaching.
Chris, Nikki’s husband came along. Where others saw imperfection, he saw wholeness, beauty, intelligence beyond her disability, frustrations, and challenges.
As tough as serenading a woman can be, Chris never gave up. Nikki was a tough girl to tame. Her being a life coach made her even harder to say yes despite her fiancés’ persuasion.
He never gave up, he continued until Nikki said “YES” and there they began their journey of love.
In February 2021, she revealed that they are expecting a baby together. She hid the gender of the baby as she wanted a private life.
Love indeed is a beautiful thing and knows no boundaries. Cheers to many more years of love and prosperity Nikki and family.
