You could soon find yourself in trouble if you frequent Airbnbs in Nairobi. Airbnb owners in Nairobi have been criticized for installing hidden cameras in their houses. Claims have emerged that some Airbnbs in Nairobi are recording clients and selling the intimate moments to adult sites.
According to an online user who contacted Kenya Regional News on Facebook revealed to us that a colleague of his found his video trending on Telegram.
The said video which was seen by KRN shows the two consenting adults having some good time. Telegram has become one of the unchecked social site where adult contents are shared.

Airbnbs have become the best option for adults who seek privacy when meeting their secret lovers better known as side chicks. These houses are booked online, and you can easily locate one in Nairobi.
“We were shocked to see a video of our friend trending on Telegram, the two were having some good time in one of the Airbnb in Nairobi,” Our source who sought anonymity revealed to Kenya Regional News.
Another user lamented on Twitter claiming that the hosts of the said Airbns were minting millions while sharing videos of consenting adults to the highest bidders who run telegram channels.
He revealed many have found themselves in the hall of shame, just that they are unwilling to share their stories since they didn’t want their families knowing the truth.
“There’s a scam that is brewing in Kenya especially those who visit Airbnbs for their bad manners, hosts are minting millions by selling their contents online. The funny part is that you can’t report these people since you don’t want your story to go viral” He said.

Surprisingly, these claims involving Airbnbs recording clients have become a global issue.
DailyMail in the UK shared a story on the same. A resident by the name Max Vest found himself in the same situation.
He was staying in An Airbnb in Miami, when he was headed to sleep, he discovered two hidden cameras facing the bed.
‘I didn’t know if I was being watched live. What I’ve found since is that [the cameras] record to a memory card, but they can also stream live. The host could’ve been watching. Anybody could have been watching,’ Vest said to the magazine.
Morris Aron, who works as a director of property and discounts firm confirmed that it’s illegal for Airbnb owners to install secret cameras inside the house.
He confirmed that cameras should be restricted to common areas such as the entrance and should be strictly for security reasons.
“As a standard rule, cameras are not allowed in any private area within a furnished unit. Cameras are restricted to common areas such as the entrance and are there strictly for security reasons.” He stated.
