Ruto Picks Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate.
Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua has been announced as Deputy President William Ruto’s running mate in the August polls, despite announcing in March that he would defend his seat under UDA ticket.
Gachagua battled the likes of Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, Kandara MP Alice Wahome, Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki and National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi.
Rigathi studied in Kabiruini Primary School for his primary education before proceeding to Kianyaga High School for his secondary school education.
Surprisingly, Gachagua studied Political Science at the Marine Corps University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Literature from the University of Nairobi.
“Your first assignment as my running mate is that you and my brother Moses Kuria will offer political leadership to our economic team,” Deputy President, William Ruto said.
Gachagua thanked DP Ruto for believing in him.
“Thank you, your excellency. I will not let you down, I will not let the hustler nation down and I will not let Kenyans down,” Rigathi Gachagua stated.
