The speculations of One Kenya Alliance (OKA) joining Raila’s Azimio La Umoja outfit could be over as the OKA principals agreed to sign the coalition agreement.
The outfit brings together four parties, Gideon Moi (Kanu), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Martha Karua (Narc Kenya), and Cyrus Jirongo of UDP.
The move comes days after the KANU secretary general Nick Salat urged KANU’s party leader to abandon OKA and Join Azimo. He alleged that Kalonzo Musyoka was being unreasonable with his demands and that it was time for them to move on.
“I do not know what he wants us to give him so that he agrees to go with us. He is taking so long. Just let him go,” said Salat.
He further added that there’s no time to babysit him and they should just leave him alone
“You know, if he has refused, just leave him. There is no time to babysit him. We love you and with or without him; we will have to go,” Salat added.

However, the OKA principals have decided not to join Azimio but instead agreed to announce the outfit’s flagbearer.
Speaking after the signing of the deal, at Villa Rosa Kempinski, Nairobi, Kalonzo stated they were ready to make more sacrifices.
“We have no doubt in our minds that this country is more important than any of us. We have made sacrifices before and we are ready to make more sacrifices but we also expect that Kenyans you know that no individual is indispensable,” Kalonzo said.
It’s understood that Azimio team refused to give in to Kalonzo Musyoka’s demands. Kalonzo had earlier stated that he was willing to partner with Azimio, but with a condition that he be considered as the flagbearer.
Speaking at the Jubilee National Delegates Congress (NDC) on February 26, Kalonzo urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to preside over the partnership talks for purposes of honesty and accountability.
Will the OKA coalition agreement last?
