“Don’t threaten us with Ruto’s money” Malala Tells Kalwale as he dished out money
Sugoi money

Kakamega senator has blasted former senator Boniface Kalwale saying that they didn’t want dirty money being dished out by Deputy President William Ruto.

“Kalwale should know that money from Sugoi won’t intimidate us. We have our own money. We will use our money, we won’t go begging in Sugoi,”

In a move aimed at countering DP Ruto’s generosity with money, Senator Malala assured those in attendance that everyone will receive their portion of lunch.

“Everything is under control. Everybody who is here will go home with lunch, we have the capacity…I want to tell all the Luhya leaders, who have been bribed to come and betray our community to stop,” he added

Senator Malala was speaking during a burial fundraiser in Kakamega County.  Both Kalwale and Malala were representing their party leaders.

2022 race

A fierce political showdown is on in Kakamega County, the two have declared their interest in the lucrative and powerful governors’ seat.

Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya is currently serving his last term, setting the stage epic political battle in the county barely one year to the 2022 general elections.

Boniface Kalwalwe is likely to use the UDA party associated with the Deputy President to clinch the governor seat. Malala on the other hand is hoping to win a direct ticket from the ANC party.

Kalwale’s take

Kalwale on different occasions has hit out at ANC party leader for being used to support Gideon Moi for the presidency. He alleged that President Uhuru Kenyatta is pushing Musalia to support Gideon Moi.

“Mudavadi should know that if he doesn’t agree to be Gideon’s deputy, there’s nothing that president Uhuru will give him,” he said during a past public event in Kakamega.

Already the 2022 election is taking shape. President Uhuru has expressed his desire to support ODM Leader Raila Odinga. Will Musalia Mudavadi bow to pressure?
