Kimani Wamatangi’s profile
Kimani Wamatangi convincingly won the United Democratic Alliance nominations placing him as the front runner in the Kiambu Governor’s race.
He is currently a second term Senator of Kiambu County. He has also served as the Majority Party Chief Whip in the national Senate.
Throughout his political career he has demonstrated excellence through putting to use his broad experience where it counts.
For instance, he prominently contributed to Kiambu County through the Paul Kimani Wamatangi Foundation which was founded in 2016.
The foundation was started with the primary objective of bettering the lives of Kiambu communities. It has achieved far beyond this through numerous projects and philanthropic activities.
These include youth training and empowerment activities such as a computer literacy training college, driving and boda boda projects.
The Foundation also sponsors and organizes various sporting events for the youth. The flagship project is donating water tanks to homes in Kiambu and to date has donated over 22,000 tanks.

Kimani Wamatangi’s manifesto
The UDA candidate in Kiambu gubernatorial race has released five manifestos that he will focus on if elected the Governor of Kiambu. The following are his manifestos;
- Governance
Under Governance Kimani Wamatangi has promised to deliver a 100% digitised Hudumia WaKiambu platform that will be installed to enhance service delivery, and other documentation and dissemination of all public forum updates from the Governor’s office.
He promises to ensure prompt and timely publication of all tenders and tender awards on the platform. Other key functions he has promised to deliver under governance are;
- Initiate Institutional Governance Mechanisms.
- A Kiambu Revenue Service body and mechanism to oversee all County revenues
- A forensic audit of County Assets and Liabilities will be carried out
- A continuous capacity building programme for County staff and Ward Committee member.
2. People
Kimani Wamatangi in his manifesto has highlighted people has part of his main agenda. He promises to deliver the following;
- Education
He promises to offer quality; accessible education at all levels. Wamatangi argues that this will alleviate poverty, create wealth and sustainable development.
- Health Care
Under healthcare Kimani Watangi promises to deliver; Healthcare Facility and Equipment maintenance and upgrades, Healthcare Worker Multi-Year Engagement Framework, and Universal Healthcare Rollout.
- Inclusivity
Watangi believes that inclusivity is a major part of his manifesto and therefore he promises to; Support Marginalised Groups offer Interest Free Loans, and Cash Transfer Voucher Programme (CTVP) for the needy and elderly.
