How to apply for Teachers Service Commission Internship Posts (20,000)  

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has recently opened up 20,000 teacher internship positions to aid in the implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum.

This initiative aims to enhance the quality of education in Kenya, with 18,000 positions allocated for Junior Secondary Schools and 2,000 for Primary Schools.

How to apply for Teachers Service Commission Internship posts

The TSC invites interested and qualified candidates to apply online through their official website, www.tsc.go.ke. The application deadline is set for July 18, 2023.

Qualifications for Junior Secondary School Teacher Interns

To be considered for recruitment as a Junior Secondary School Teacher Intern, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen.
  2. Hold a diploma in education with a minimum mean Grade of C+ (plus) and C+ (plus) in two teaching subjects in KCSE or its equivalent.
  3. Be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.

Applicants with equivalent qualifications are advised to visit the TSC website, www.tsc.go.ke, for further details on teacher intern positions in Post Primary Institutions for the academic year 2023/2024.

Teachers from TVET institutions are also encouraged to apply.

Requirements for Primary School Teacher Interns

Candidates aspiring to become Primary School Teacher Interns should meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen.
  2. Hold a PI Certificate.
  3. Be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.

Additionally, teachers with an Upgrade Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (CBC) will have an added advantage.

Benefits of the Internship

The internship program will span 12 months, offering successful candidates a monthly stipend of Ksh 15,000 for Primary School and Ksh 20,000 for Junior Secondary School.

Upon completion of the internship, participants will receive a certificate acknowledging their achievement.
