How to: Register for Covid-19 Vaccination, get Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate

The covid-19 pandemic has now become part of our livelihood. The government of Kenya has continuously urged Kenyans to strictly observe Covid-19 guidelines.

Despite running numerous campaigns aimed at sensitizing people, many continue to neglect the guidelines championed by the ministry of health.

Daily cases

Kenya’s Covid-19 daily cases now stand at an average of 1,000 with a positivity rate of 15%. The cases have surpassed the 200,000 marks with a number of tests conducted so far hitting over 2,000,000.

The government through the ministry of health has come up with innovative ways to attract Kenyans to take the Covid jab. Kenyans can now register for Covid-19 vaccination through the ministry’s portal, after which you will be advised when to go for the jab.

You will also be able to download and validate your Covid-19 vaccination certificate through the portal. These services can be accessed through this health portal.

Vaccination is now going to be mandatory for some organizations. A new trend is emerging, where some organizations are asking whether you’re fully vaccinated before attending physical seminars.

“This vaccination thing is now becoming serious, yesterday I was supposed to attend a seminar in Mombasa, but I received a call from my boss telling me to carry my vaccination certificate,” Jane told Kenya Regional News.

The government, through the head of public service Joseph Kinyua, has told civil servants that those who will not be vaccinated by the end of August 2021 will face disciplinary action.

“Those who have not had the first jab by August 23 will be “treated as discipline cases and appropriate action taken against them”, Kinyua said in a memo send to government ministries, without elaborating on what the penalties may be.

Already a total of 1,992,085 Kenyans have received Covid-19 jab. Countries with higher vaccination uptake like the United States and the United Kingdom have allowed people to resume normal lives.

Notably, the premier league has allowed fans to return to the stadium without wearing masks and observing social distance.
