DP Ruto’s latest news-Deputy President William Ruto has now claimed that he is not a member of the UDA party. Speaking in Mwavumbo, Kinango constituency, Deputy President said that he is the Deputy party leader of the ruling party.

“As we speak now, I am not a member of the United Democratic Movement. I am the deputy party leader of Jubilee.” DP Ruto said.

Despite fronting candidates in the past by-elections, Ruto’s sentiments come a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta dared him to resign if he was not satisfied with government policies.

The president in an interview with media editors claimed that he doesn’t know what caused the political divorce between him and his deputy.

“I have no idea what really transpired apart from the fact he [William Ruto] is trying to create a base of his political future which is indeed his constitutional right. But I think it’s unfortunate in the manner in which he is doing it, I mean by going against the same government he is serving, I think it’s wrong. “He said

He further urged Ruto to resign if he was not satisfied with his policies.

“If you are not happy step aside and allow those who want to move on to do so, then take your agenda to the people. That’s what happens in a democracy, you cannot ride on what we have done and talk a different language on the other side of the mouth” he added

Deputy President William Ruto responded to his boss saying, “For those, I have wronged, I ask for their forgiveness. I was looking for a way on how to unite Kenyans without discrimination”

Two months ago, while addressing a crowd in West Pokot county, the DP confirmed his association with UDA after being sidelined in the Jubilee party.

“What I want to tell you my friends is that we are alert and time conscious. We have a party of hustlers called UDA. I say so because my other colleagues are stuck with the whole party and now they want to unite ODM and Jubilee. Let me put something clear, they think that when they unite we will lack a party to push us forward. We do not want to engage in ethnic parties, we only desire for a party to unite Kenyans.” he said
