“I’m ready to reconcile with Uhuru,” Ruto says as he comments on Fuel Prices.
Deputy President William Ruto has on Thursday welcomed efforts by the Catholic Bishops to reconcile him with his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking during a consultative meeting with grassroots leaders from Kandara Constituency at the Karen Residence, Nairobi County, Ruto said that he was ready to reconcile with the President without any condition.
“I am ready to reconcile with President Uhuru Kenyatta. Those Bishops have said that they want to reconcile me with President Uhuru. I am ready without any condition because I respect the President, he is my boss.” Said Ruto.
In what seemed to be directed to ODM leader Raila Odinga, the DP claimed that some people had invaded the government and advised the President to sideline him.
“There are people, conmen who have caused the animosity between me and the President. They advised the President to sideline me but I am ready without condition any moment because we were elected together by Kenyans.
Those who have destroyed our relationship should wait until we meet at the ballot. You can’t come and enjoy the government that you didn’t form.” He added.
He noted that the prices of fuel had dramatically gone up, he urged the responsible committees to come up with solutions on how the government can reduce the prices of fuel.
“We are facing hard times as a country, fuel prices have gone up to Ksh 135, I want ask to those who were given responsibility by the President, cabinet sub-committee should discuss and advise on how the government should reduce the fuel prices which is going to affect Kenyans.
Parliament Committee on energy should also discuss together with the Cabinet Secretary and advise the government accordingly.” Noted Ruto.
He further sent a direct message to Interior CS Fred Matiang’i urging him and his counterparts in the Cabinet to assume full responsibilities and give a way forward.
“There are people who have been assigned responsibilities by the President, it’s time for them to assume those responsibilities, provide advice to government so that the right decision can be made to manage the current situation where prices of fuel are going up.” He said.
