Police in Kiambu County have launched investigations into the death of a 25-year-old man who was fatally stabbed by his cousin following a disagreement over a football match.
The tragic incident occurred on Sunday night in Gituamba village, where the deceased, identified as Stephen Njoroge, got into an argument with his cousin, James Mbugua, shortly after the English Premier League clash between Manchester United and Chelsea.
According to a report aired by KTN News, the altercation quickly escalated, with Mbugua allegedly attacking Njoroge with a knife, killing him on the spot.
The suspect fled the scene immediately after the incident and is currently on the run. Police have launched a manhunt to track him down.
Residents of Gituamba have been left in shock, describing the incident as unfortunate and avoidable. The body of the deceased was taken to a local morgue as investigations continue.
