Ladies masquerading as massage therapist are swindling unsuspecting wababaz

Wealthy and elderly male merrymakers better known as ‘Wababaz’ have raised concerns over increasing predatory drugging and drink-spiking cases by a group of women who frequent popular bars in Nairobi City.

An incident involving an elderly man in his late 50s has shocked the residents of Roysambu. Kenya Regional News has established that, a group of women masquerading as massage therapists have mastered the art of swindling money from unsuspecting men.

On a Saturday around 6.40 pm, Muriuki left his house and headed to a joint in Roysambu. Muriuki who is due for retirement this year, wanted to explore the night life to the fullest.

The father of three said that he was planning to relocate back to the village immediately after retirement.

“I am one social person, a lover of Rhumba music, at my age you at times want to dance as you remember the good old days,” He starts off.

He explained how he found himself in a club that he had never imagined he will rave in.

“My friends who still have time in the forces were going to this club. When I heard they were around, I decided to join them. I actually loved their music,” He continued.

Some of the girls at Mtwapa Police station, where they were detained before being taken to Shanzu law court, they were charged with exploitation of prostitution contrary to section 17(b) of the sexual offence act ,that on Sunday they intentionally engaged on public exhibition of indecent shows while naked and eventually having sex in public, the girls pleaded guilty.Photo/Elkana Jacob

As he approached the club, he noticed his friends who sat at table close to the speakers. They ushered him in, he noticed that the table was full of young and beautiful women.

Being a man who enjoys the company of women, he didn’t mind. When he was dancing to some good Rhumba music, Muriuki spotted two ladies seated across the dance floor. One winked, and called him over.

“I have never felt that stupid, I spotted the two ladies while I was dancing, by that time I had drunk four bottles of beer. My friends were wasted but I was still in the mood,” Muriuki narrated.

He recounted that he actually bought some drinks for the ladies and ordered some food for them. As he was dancing, one of them joined him the dancing floor.

She seductively danced in a manner that suggested that she was ready for him for the night.

“As I continued displaying my moves, I left my drinks with my new found friends,”

The father of three described the night as one of the nastiest in his drinking life. He had gotten tired of dancing and he wanted to relax as he enjoys his cold beer. He said that he remembers asking them, what they do for a living.

Muriuki, recounts hearing something like massage therapists that comes with extra value. He added that the ladies had promised him happy ending in case he accepts their offer.

“After hearing about the offer I told myself why not? Wazee hukumbuka, I sipped my last before I blacked out,”

He narrated that the neighbors told him how he had invited his relatives to relocate him at night. He wondered when did he invite the relatives to come and relocate him yet he was still serving his last year.

He later learned that the ladies came to his house with a crew who helped them steal from him. What amuses Muriuki is that these ladies didn’t even got scared since they were dealing with a police officer.

Muriuki found himself the next day in a small lodging in Roysambu. He tried asking for CCTV footages but he was told that the hotel was in the process of installing CCTV.

Despite being a police officer, it became hard for him to prove that the hotel management was actually working with the cartel.

According to a feature shared by Nation, a lady by the name Lucy Nyambura who targets a popular night club in Ongata Rongai, confessed to have laced drinks of 12 different men using Stilnox.

“You just have to look good, expose your body a bit and some men will come drooling because all they come to do is to look for company and sex while my objective is very clear — to make money as I have mouths to feed,” she disclosed to Nation.

Nyambura said that hard times introduced her to the business. She confesses that she’s not proud of it.

“It’s not something that I am proud of but life pushed me to a corner and when men who are running away from their frustrated marriages come here to drown in alcohol and want you to drink with them till morning then sleep with you , how will you make good money to afford rent and other basic needs ?” She added.

Dr. Omondi Beatrice, who works as private practitioner, explained to the Standard Newspaper that in most cases the drug is dropped into the victim’s alcohol.

“In most instances, the drug is dropped into their alcohol, or they inhale or suck it from breasts of the women. When a drink is spiked, the effects may last for up to 12 hours or more.” She told the Standard Newspaper.

She further explained the level of impact the drug could cause to someone’s body, depends on the amount used.

“It’s dependent on the amount used, the body weight of the victim, and the amount of alcohol one takes. Most drugs used to spike are depressants like Valium and Rohypnol. Depressants are like sedatives. When introduced to your drink, they relax your body and cause sleepiness. Too much of the drugs slow down the organs in your body.” She added.
