Matiang’i threatens to expose Ruto
Interior cabinet secretary has now threatened to reveal why President Uhuru Kenyatta restructured his government leaving Ruto with less powers.
While responding to claims that he took some responsibilities from the Deputy President, Matiang’i warned the DP’s allies saying that if they continue peddling lies, then they will have to reveal the truth.
“I think a time is coming sooner rather than later when the country needs to be told the truth that they need to know about those kinds of irresponsible claims and very wild allegations that are being made by people. But if it continues this way, then we are more than ready to do it,” He warned
He further added that they had avoided talking about the matter since it touches on national security.
“I frankly hoped that I will not be asked that question, those who are saying that should be asked to explain what job I took from them, because I am not the one saying I took a job from someone. If it wasn’t a serious matter that touches on the national security you would even love to hear about it,” He added

The executive order number one of 2019 restructured government. The order introduced National Development and Communication cabinet committee chaired by Dr. Fred Matiang’i with seven key functions.
The committee was tasked to oversee all government projects. This led to protests from the Deputy President side with claims that Ruto had been left with an office without any responsibility.
The no nonsense cabinet secretary added that he has been consulting with other cabinet secretaries on how to go about it. He notes that they have suffered restrains as the matter is so sensitive.
“A number of my colleagues and me in the cabinet have been having a conversation about collective responsibility. There are certain things we will like to say, we have suffered restrains in the last four or five years…
There some things we have avoided commenting on because we respect certain offices and we respect that etiquette of collective responsibility,” He added

He stated that they will have to consult further on when to talk about the dossier against the deputy president.
“It now will appear that others are going out of it and so on, but I still defer to and respect his Excellency the President, we would love to consult further on when we can talk about those kind of things,” Matiang’i said.
Deputy President through his social media pages responded sarcastically to President Uhuru’s allegations.
The President while addressing Kenyans on Labour Day said that Ruto had abandoned his responsibilities.
“SORRY my Boss.I FEEL your pain. Those you ASSIGNED my RESPONSIBILITIES & ‘project’ mzee have let you DOWN miserably. They bangled our BIG4, killed our party & wasted your 2ND term.Wao ni bure kabisa.Boss,am AVAILABLE.Just a PHONE call away.Sadly last CABINET was 2yrs ago. Yule No.2,” Deputy President response to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
