Mistrust hits OKA, Gideon Moi is said to be the double agent.
Reports from a series of meetings held separately by ANC and Wiper leadership indicate that the two camps don’t trust KANU leader Gideon Moi.
According to one of the leaders privy to the meetings said that Gideon Moi was being used to neutralize the OKA coalition. It’s alleged that Gideon Moi has already made a deal with ODM leader Raila Odinga and he was snitching on OKA plans.
Sensing betrayal, Musalia Mudavadi through his trusted ally senator Malala, has given the coalition one month to decide the flagbearer or else he will seek other allies.
“We are telling our colleagues at the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) that we want to know the presidential candidate of the coalition by December 25,” Malala said
It’s understood that Mudavadi has already met with DP Ruto. The wiper leader is also said to be warming up to Ruto’s camp. This comes after the ODM leader chose to work with the three governors from Ukambani.
President is said to be keen on working on a formula that would see the ODM leader become President in 2022. The President’s game would be difficult if hardliners like Musalia Mudavadi are not contained.
Before the onset of the OKA coalition that brought together three former NASA principals and KANU chairman Gideon Moi, the President held a meeting with Gideon Moi urging him to play along with the OKA game plan but he should keep him updated if any development emerged that could threaten his plan.
During one of the grand meetings that OKA had sought to tour the western region to popularize their coalition, the president moved swiftly to contain the situation since it was going to weaken Raila’s influence in western.
According to information received by KRN, the principals received personal calls from the president inviting them to attend an urgent meeting in the statehouse.
During the meeting in the statehouse, the principals were told to tone down until when the president would give them a go-ahead.
It’s said that the directive was not received well by the ANC boss who questioned why ODM leader and DP Ruto were allowed to go on with their campaigns without any restraints.
“No one should coerce us to support a certain individual,” Mudavadi said in one of his meetings, it was not clear if he was replying to the president directly.
