Nairobi is set to host the Africa finals of the first-ever DaVinci Gourmet Barista Craft Championship, a prestigious competition that will span across Africa, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Latin America.
This global event, themed “United Through Coffee,” aims to bring together talented baristas, coffee enthusiasts, and connoisseurs to showcase their skills and creativity in the art of coffee making.
Participants from over 20 countries will vie for a chance to win up to USD 6,000 in cash and prizes, including a sponsored coffee experience trip.
The competition will challenge competitors to push the boundaries of flavor, technique, and presentation, as they create coffee-inspired masterpieces reflecting the latest trends and innovations in the industry.

The competition kicks off with the national preliminary round, running from August 1st to 18th, 2024. During this phase, participants from across Africa will submit digital entries, including a detailed recipe, a video or written method of preparation, and an image of their coffee creation, all made using DaVinci Gourmet products with espresso.
Successful entrants will then advance to the Africa finals, scheduled to take place in Nairobi, Kenya on September 14th, 2024. Here, competitors will face a series of espresso-based challenges, judged on technical preparation, flavor complexity, and presentation.
The competition will culminate in the worldwide finals at the prestigious FHA HoReCa event in Singapore on October 23rd and 24th, 2024.
National champions from each participating country or region will compete for the title, showcasing their skills in practical tests, latte art, and the final presentation of their signature coffee beverages.
