President Uhuru announces the opening of the Expressway, Violators to pay up to Sh 8 million.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has today announced the opening of Nairobi Expressway on a trial basis. He said that they are allowing motorists to use the Expressway as they rectify areas that needs to be completed.
“On Saturday, on a trial basis we will allow Kenyans to drive their vehicles along Nairobi expressway. This will enable us to see the areas that needs to be finalized,” He announced.

Despite the excitement, Kenyans will have to be careful while using Nairobi Expressway. You will have to pay up to Ksh 8.7 million shillings if you hit and destroy a signage. Ksh 4.1 million shillings if you destroy weight batcher.
In case you spill fuel, water or any kind of chemicals, you will have to pay Ksh. 6,939 and Ksh. 2,362 if you draw any kind of drawing on Expressway.
Those with faulty cars have also been warned to find alternative roads. It will cost them Sh 4,000 to tow their cars out of the Expressway.
