Rachel Ruto narrates how she purified dirty water through prayer

This is why Rachel Ruto is trending on social media

Deputy President’s wife Rachel Ruto has sparked an online debate after claiming that she prayed for dirty water in a borehole in their private residence in Karen.

Rachel who was speaking to various clergy men who had visited their official Karen residence said that she prayed for the water and it was purified.

“And when we drilled this borehole in 2003, when the water was taken to be checked by the labs, they told us that we could not drink that water as it was until it was purified,” She said

She added that they had spent a lot of money on the purifying machines yet they were not working. Rachel added that she took it upon herself to pray for the water, she likened it to what Prophet Elijah did in the bible.

“Recently the purification machines had gotten problems, I remember we spent a lot of money to buy, now I kept wondering, am I worth it to do what Elijah did? Just go pray for this water,” She added.

The self-proclaimed prayer warrior went on to narrate how she purified the dirty water through prayer.

“I went to the kitchen, took a bowl, put salt, and went to the borehole, and I went and decreed the words of Elijah, I went and said this water will never be dirty again,” Rachel Ruto narrated.

The sentiments have drawn various reactions from many Kenyans on social media.

A Twitter user by the name Gabriel Ogola mocked Rachel Ruto’s prayers saying that Manchester United don’t need a new coach but Rachel Ruto’s prayers.

“This club doesn’t need Ten Hag. It’s Rachel Ruto who can only pray for its revival,” His tweet read.

Another twitter user called Evans Millo supported Rachel saying that she’s clothed with strength and dignity.

“Rachel Ruto is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness,” He said in a Twitter post.

However, Atheists Association of Kenya has criticized Rachel Ruto daring her to perform such miracles across the country.

“If Rachel Ruto wants Kenyans to believe her claim, she should replicate the same miracle in many other dirty boreholes across the country, and purify the water within them in a manner that is scientifically verifiable,” stated Atheists in a statement.
