Rachel Ruto on Fertilizer: Kenya does not need fertilizers but Prayers

During a moving address at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) on Monday, First Lady Rachel Ruto shared her vision for a future where Kenyan farmers will no longer rely on fertilizers, drawing inspiration from Uganda’s agricultural success.

Recalling her recent visit to Uganda, the first lady remarked on the glaring contrast between the sumptuous greenery of Uganda and the arid landscapes of Kenya upon her return.

“We flew there and when I landed, it was very green and yet Kenya was so dry,” she recounted.

Prompted by this observation, she turned to prayer, seeking insight into why Kenya couldn’t emulate Uganda’s agricultural prosperity.

In a moment of revelation, Rachel attributed Uganda’s fertile lands and abundant rainfall to the East Africa Revival, a spiritual awakening she claimed that swept through the region.

“I got an answer the other day, the reason Uganda is very fertile and it has been raining is because of the East Africa Revival that swept Uganda and some parts of East Africa.” She added

She passionately proclaimed that her prayers had been answered with Kenya receiving plentiful rainfall, signaling the onset of a similar revival in the country.

Rachel Ruto expressed her belief that the spiritual awakening enabled Ugandan farmers to cultivate crops without resorting to fertilizers.

She confidently declared that the same transformation is underway in Kenya, signaling a future where the nation’s reliance on fertilizers will be a thing of the past.
