Ruto gives NIS 14 days ultimatum to make election report public
Deputy President William Ruto has now taken his 2022 battle to National Intelligence Service.
UDA through lawyer Mutuma Gichuru has given NIS fourteen days to respond to claims made by Interior principal secretary Karanja Kibicho and his ICT counterpart Joe Mucheru.
The duo have claimed in a series of media interviews that Azimio La Umoja Presidential candidate will win the election in round one with 60% of the votes.
Ruto’s take on the Intelligence report
Ruto in one of his campaign rally, claimed that the alleged fabricated reports being made by CS Mucheru and PS KIbicho are false and misleading.
The UDA presidential flag bearer stated that he consumes first hand intelligence report. Ruto, argued that he’s given the intelligence report after the president has read it.
“I am the deputy president of Kenya. After the intelligence report is handed to the president, it is handed to me next before those other juniors. I want to tell the people of Kenya to treat with contempt the propaganda being propagated by some of our staff that there is any intelligence report that says our competitors are ahead of us,” Ruto said.

Furthermore, the second in command stated that the report he is aware of is that which puts Kenya Kwanza coalition ahead by 8%.
“In fact, the intelligence report that our NSIS (sic) has released is that Kenya Kwanza is ahead by 8 percentage points against our competitors. And I want to challenge the public officials, if they are serious about what they are saying, let them publish the report they are talking about.”

CS Mucheru’s take on 2022 election results
Mucheru while appearing on a local TV station made claims that Raila Odinga will win in round one. He added that all indicators are favoring Raila, he backed his sentiments with data he had consumed.
“All indicators are that he will take it in round One. The data we have, the opinion polls available and many other factors point to that reality. That’s my personal view as Mucheru and not the government. I think that is why these people are panicking,” Mucheru noted.
PS Kibicho’s take on 2022 election results
The interior principal secretary Karanja Kibicho stated that the Azimio candidate will win with over 60% of the votes.
“We don’t speak from emotions; we speak from facts. So if you asked me what the data is saying today and because you are entitled to my answer as a public servant, I would give you as it is. The intelligence data says it is 60% in the first round,” Kibicho said.
He challenged the journalist interviewing him to share data that contradicts his data.
“If you think that the data I have given you is misleading, tell me what data you have and from where that says otherwise. I think you cannot criminalise someone for giving you the information you asked for,” Kibicho added.
