The hilarious story of senator Linturi trying to rape a woman
Meru Senator Franklin Mithika Linturi has moved to court to block a possible rape case filed against him by a couple. The senator is accused of forcefully engaging in indecent acts without the woman’s consent.
The woman enjoined in Linturi’s suit stated that Senator Linturi entered her hotel room where she was staying with her husband and started touching her in a way suggesting that he was ready to engage in the act.
The woman added that she thought Linturi was her husband, she says that the husband had left the room and promised to return on time. She alleged that she allowed Linturi to touch her thinking that he was her husband.
According to a police statement obtained by Kenya Regional News, the woman stated that Linturi entered the room unwelcomed at around 3 AM, the woman also reported that she was with her husband and friends at Maiyan Villas Resort Nanyuki on January 29, 2021.
“Thirty minutes later she heard a knock on the door and went to open the door only to find her husband standing at the door prompting her to switch on the lights since she was confused who was in her bed whom she thought was her husband,” the police statement seen by Kenya Regional News reads in part.

She further added that she called her friends who identified the man as Linturi. The couple admitted that the senator accepted to settle the matter out of court.
Linturi is said to have paid Sh 200,000 and promised that he would write them a cheque of Sh 800,000 to settle the case. The couple claimed that Linturi later accused them of extortion.
The senator through his lawyer Charles Mwongela, wants the court to bar the authorities from arresting him for rape and indecent acts.
He further stated that he learned of his imminent arrest from CS Fred Matiang’i. The CS while appearing before the Senate Committee on National Security, claimed that they intended to charge him with the attempted rape and forgery charge he is currently facing.
