President William Ruto has honored the athletes who represented Kenya at the Paris 2024 Olympics, despite facing adverse commentary.
During a breakfast meeting at the Eldoret State Lodge on Thursday, August 15, the Head of State presented a total of Ksh 19.75 million to the team in recognition of their remarkable accomplishments.
Kenya ranked as the 17th best-performing nation worldwide and led the African continent by winning 11 medals—four gold, two silver, and five bronze.
Speaking while addressing the athletes, Ruto expressed his pride in the achievements of the team without reservation.
“You did not disappoint. I am very proud this morning, almost emotional, that these sportsmen and women are making our country great,” he said.
