Unbelievable: Gachagua’s Speech Scolding Chiefs.
Kenya Kwanza Coalition’s running mate Rigathi Gachagua has today rebuked chiefs for participating in what he called manipulation of voters.
While appearing on a campaign trail together with Kenya Kwanza’s flag bearer in Namanga and Kitengela, Kajiado counties, Gacahgua said that people are wise and chiefs should not pretend to be carrying brains for them.
“We are telling the chief that there is no one who has given the chief their brains to carry for them. Can the chief tell you where to vote? We have refused to allow Uhuru Kenyatta to carry our brains for us. If the chief wants to tell someone who to vote for, he should tell his wife,” Gachagua said.
Gachagua went further to tell the chiefs to focus on their statutory duties as stipulated in their job description. He said that they should focus on domestic problems and issues involving boundaries.
“The job of the chief is not to advise us where to vote, he should focus on the issues involving boundaries, and to write ID letters to those seeking identification cards. If someone’s wife has escaped, he should focus on reuniting them. That’s their work,” he added.
The statement comes days after Kenyans praised him for excellent submissions during the Deputy President’s debate.
Kenyans online are now claiming Gachagau has gone back to his default state of reasoning.
