Mercy Tarus Declines Opposition Job Offer, Remains Focused on County Government Accountability
In a display of unwavering determination and integrity, Mercy Tarus, a Kenyan youth from Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, has turned down a job offer extended to her by opposition senator Ledama Ole Kina.
Tarus, who has been at the forefront of advocating for the refund of misappropriated scholarship funds, declined the offer in the midst of overwhelming support from elders and parents who urged her not to be swayed by political maneuvers.
Tarus’s remarkable journey began when it came to light that funds intended for scholarships, raised by parents with the aim of securing educational opportunities for their children in Finland, had allegedly been diverted to personal accounts.
Alongside her fellow students and parents, Tarus embarked on a relentless campaign to hold the county government accountable and ensure the refund of the misappropriated funds.
Senator Ledama Ole Kina, a prominent figure in the opposition party, recognized Tarus’s dedication and commitment to her cause and extended a job offer to her.
