“You can’t be a player and a referee at the same time,” Jimmy Wanjigi tells Raila.

ODM Presidential hopeful Jimmy Wangiji told the ODM party leader Raila Odinga to declare his stand whether he will be on the ballot or not.

Wanjigi told Raila to stop meddling with party affairs, he urged him not to micromanage everything.

“Our party leader should now confirm that he’s a player, he should join this race, and when he confirms he is a player he should know that he cannot be a player, a captain, a referee, linesman, and VAR at the same time it cannot be.” He stated

The businessman further urged the ODM leader to follow the set out for party primaries.

“He should join the race like me, we all follow the rules of the game, and we say that this is how to get delegates, this how we meet them, we also encourage debates like in America, and this is what we want to see in a party because this is a democratic party.” He added

He warned those who run the ODM party as personal properties to stop and let the people decide who and what is best for them.

“We want to make sure that every Kenyan buys into party politics, the party should be someone’s Kiosks, parties must be owned by the people, the people must decide, we don’t know why they are afraid.” Said Wanjigi.

On September 17, 2021, businessman Jimmy Wanjigi while on a tour in Migori came under a hail of stones after youth disrupted his rally.

ODM party condemned hooliganism saying that such kind of politics is not allowed in the current century.

Jimmy is looking to win the ODM presidential party ticked which he will use to campaign for the 2022 general elections. Wanjigi is using the Fagia Wote slogan which contradicts the party’s slogan.
